Movement Lifestyle Classes

Movement Lifestyle artist: Brian Puspos & Jun Quemado

Experience: Easter Dance Camp- Studio 68 London

Description: This was the first ever proper workshop I’ve ever gone to as a serious dancer, as soon that I heard Brian Puspos was coming to the UK I just had to go to this dance camp- to my amazement I saw Jun tweet about visiting London too so I asked him if he’s going to be with Brian, to my amazement, my jaw dropped the morning I woke up and read his reply saying he will be in Brian’s class!

I’ve been such a huge supporter of both of these guys for a long time and been inspired time after time after watching each and every one of their videos even from when they first started they were still smashing up each piece!

I was lucky enough to attend all 3 of Brian’s classes throughout the week and the first piece he taught was his ‘Wet The Bed’ routine- this was several weeks before he dropped the video so it was a privilege learning this routine, it was hella hard but I worked as hard as I can to learn it! Brian’s second routine he taught was the ‘Luv Songs’ routine created by him, Ian and Jun; with both of them together that class was probably the funniest AND funnest class I’ve ever had; one of my greatest dancing moments was actually the point where I was picked by Brian for the select group of the ‘Luv Songs’ piece to perform it for the class :)

The last piece he taught was his ‘Rest of my Life’ routine which was a very personal piece for him, His passion and emotion filled up the entire room and everyone as a dancer felt one and connected relating exactly to how Brian feels because of how well he portrayed himself within that piece.

Each piece I learnt at the workshop was incredible and probably one of the best expriences I’ve ever had as  a dancer, just to feel the passion that comes out of both Jun and Brian and to see how much fun they have dancing really shows how much dancing means to those two, and just to see their friendship and personalities up close was inspiring and funny at the same time specially the imagery Brian uses to teach his pieces like in his ‘wet the bed’ piece! haha

Now I’ve booked two MWC workshops when they come visit the UK again and also visiting LA next summer to train so hopefully I can make other submissions to tell others just how inspiring and amazing classes from ML artists are!

Dancing with my Hero

Movement Lifestyle artist: Brian Puspos x Jun Quemado

Experience: 1st Mos Wanted Crew Workshop - Step by Step Dancesport in Bergenfield, NJ (shout out to Project D)

Description: My parents were on vacation for a week and I felt so blessed by this opportunity to take class from MWC (mL / GRV / Architeks / whatever other crews they’re all on haha). My folks don’t support my dancing and I never would have been able to get all the way up to Bergen (90 minute drive) if they didn’t just happen to be outside of the USA. I figured that seeing as I didn’t have enough money to go to World of Dance the day before (where I would only MAYBE meet MWC dancers) and take the workshop, I decided to take class to definitely meet them AND dance with them. For more money, obviously.

I took Lando & Bam’s class before this and that was a lot of fun (albeit hard as f*** haha). But ever since Brian Puspos’ knee drop during SRC’s “A Millie” routine on ABDC, I was totally man-crushing LOL. I’ve been following his YouTube channel for the longest time and finally learning choreo from him (“Up To You” by Chris Brown) was just surreal. There was so much feeling in the piece, which is always something I appreciated from his choreo (really separates “dancing” vs just “moves”). Him and Jun were just such nice guys and were always cracking jokes during the class. When they FIRST demonstrated a bit of the piece after teaching about 8 counts, I can’t possibly deny that my face freaking melted. It wasn’t the easiest class I’ve ever taken but I worked really hard during and even after that night. And to top it all off, I got a disgusting, sweaty picture with Brian (and everyone else haha) after it was all said and done (after waiting in line behind rabid Asian women). It was truly one of the best experiences of my dance career. I hope I can do it again sometime!
